Disclaimer
These calculators are planning aids, not professional or engineering advice. Towing safely depends on your specific vehicle, trailer, hitch, tires, load and conditions.
Your manufacturer governs
The weight ratings that apply to your rig are set by the vehicle and trailer manufacturers and printed on the door-jamb placard, the trailer VIN plate and in your owner's manual. Where anything on this site conflicts with those, the manufacturer's figures govern.
Calculations depend on your inputs
Every result here is derived from numbers you enter. Estimated or incorrect inputs produce incorrect results, and the calculator has no way to detect that. Weighing your rig at a certified scale is the only way to know your real weights.
Rules of thumb are labelled
Some figures used here are industry conventions rather than regulatory standards - hitch class ratings and typical axle weights among them. Those are labelled on the pages where they appear. They vary between manufacturers, and the rating on your specific component is what counts.
No liability
This site is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. You are responsible for verifying that your rig is within all applicable limits before towing, and for complying with the laws of the jurisdictions you drive in.
Safety-critical decisions
If a calculation puts you close to any limit, treat that as a reason to weigh the rig and consult a qualified professional - not as permission to proceed. Bias every judgement towards the conservative answer.
